Hi and welcome to my blog! My name is Nicole and cooking is more than just a hobby for me, it is a way of life.
Cooking is in my DNA. I am Italian and I come from a long line of women who take their roles in the kitchen very seriously. Not just because they were the designated cooks of the family, but because cooking good food for their families was their passion and life’s work.
I always knew that one day it would be my turn to navigate the kitchen and it was a role I transitioned into naturally.
Being in the kitchen and cooking good food does not have to take all day, or create a big mess, or mean that you have to spend a lot of money on fancy ingredients. In fact, once you are comfortable with cooking and preparing and planning for meals, it becomes second nature.
Some of the best dishes I have ever made, were created on the fly, using ingredients I already had on hand, and no recipe.
The more and more time I spend in my kitchen, whether it is five minutes making a salad, or a few hours working on something more complex, the more I have found that this time is a true opportunity for me to unplug, relax and feel completely comfortable, with no worries in the world. My kitchen is the one place where I truly feel in my element and any stress I have just disappears.
For years I have wanted to document my progress, my inspiration, and the dishes I have created in a format that I can revisit and share with my own family one day.
I created this blog to do just that- to keep track of my need to feed those that I love with simple meals, made to share.
